Objective
This SOP outlines the steps to download and install the iConfig Agent across various operating systems, ensuring a smooth installation process for team members.
Key Steps
1. Accessing the Download Tab 0:00
Navigate to the Download Agent tab after completing the onboarding process.
Review any comments related to iConfig Agent.
2. Downloading the Installer 0:16
Choose the appropriate installer based on your operating system:
Linux and Mac OS: Run as Root.
Windows: Download the installer from the provided link.
3. Understanding the Download Link Expiration 0:37
Be aware that the download link will regenerate every 24 hours.
If sharing the link with colleagues, inform them that the link may expire and could lead to errors.
4. Installation Process 0:56
Follow the installation prompts for macOS and Linux users.
If using a Configuration Manager tool, you can also initiate the download via bash.
You can also redistribute the .msi via AD GPOs, or another Microsoft Policy app.
Cautionary Notes
Ensure you download the installer within the 24-hour window to avoid link expiration.
If you encounter errors during the download, check if you are using the current URL.
Tips for Efficiency
Save the download link in a secure location for future reference, but remember it will change daily.
If installing on multiple machines, consider downloading the installer once and transferring it to other machines.
