Objective
This SOP outlines the steps to set up the iConfig addon for asset management and endpoint connection.
Key Steps
1. Onboarding and Schema Creation 0:00
Access the iConfig addon for the first time.
Follow the onboarding instructions.
Choose the option to create a new schema.
2. Manual Import Creation 0:25
Navigate to the schemas section.
Perform a manual import creation to link your schema to iConfig.
3. Create Inventory Import 0:53
Create an import for inventory to connect to the app.
Verify that the port reflects on the onboarding screen.
4. Install the Agent on Endpoint 1:08
Download the MSI installer for the agent on your Windows endpoint.
Windows is currently reporting risks, but we are working on the process to get this fixed using their certificates. The agent does not cause any risk to your windows.
Run the installer to distribute it to your endpoints.
Use the commands to install on macOS and Linux platforms
If you canβt install on some platform or version, please open a ticket to work with us in the case.
We plan to cover all platforms and not EOL versions, and we need you to bring it to us!
5. Handle Installation Errors 1:32
If you encounter an error during installation, proceed with the installation anyway. Windows is currently reporting risks, but we are working on the process to get this fixed using their certificates. The agent does not cause any risk to your windows.
6. Verify Endpoint Connection 1:49
Confirm that the endpoint is recognized and syncing with the Jira assets inventory.
7. Update Screen for Data Visibility 2:05
Refresh the screen to view the endpoint and its attributes.
Note that it may take some time for all attributes to appear.
8. Manual Sync 2:33
Click on 'Sync Now' to manually sync data.
Avoid doing this for multiple endpoints at once.
9. Monitor Sync Status 3:08
Check for any errors during the sync process.
Report any issues to the support team for resolution.
Cautionary Notes
Do not perform manual sync for a large number of entities simultaneously to avoid performance issues.
If any errors occur during installation or syncing, report them immediately for assistance.
