Use cases

You can use iOrganizations to help you manage organizations in your Jira Service Management projects.

Some of the use cases include:

  • You have your internal departments as organizations and need to spread them in all Jira Service Management projects.

  • You have an SSO connected and receive user data into groups and need to replicate them into organizations in your Jira Service Management projects

  • Your customers are Atlassian accounts, so they are listed as users in your instance (see Atlassian documentation for reference here)

  • You have the same domain in different organizations, so you can not handle in a good manner using automation

  • You have a lot of Jira Service Management projects, with different organizations and want to see them all in a single screen for easier management and review;

  • You have duplicate Organizations, created by mistake and need to have them synchronized and deleting one after sync.

  • You need to rapidly remove organizations from different projects at once;

  • You need to remove the organization from your instance, at all;

  • You need to compare, copy, sync the users between

    • Different organizations

    • Groups to organizations

iOrganizations doesn't sync users from Organizations into Groups. The only sync possible related to groups is taking users from Groups and copying them into Organizations.
Lets say some of your groups has application access, not visible in iOrganization screen. This way, iOrganizations has no capability to increase license usage in your instance.
